Art Director / Lead Graphic Designer - Atlanta, GA or Remote

This is a hands-on position that will work on everything (design, web, print, social, digital) with everyone (in partnerships, teams, or as occasional client project lead). We take a very collaborative approach to our client engagements and you’ll spend a good portion of your time involved in brainstorming and feedback sessions. 

To be successful you’ll likely need to have at least three years of professional design experience (or have enough accomplished work to show that you’re a natural talent).

This position is available either as remote work-from-home, or from our office at Avalon Alpharetta (just north of metro Atlanta) with flexible office hours depending on your commute situation. Position Description:

Creation and production of graphic design and creative services projects and deliverables. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing, developing and/or revising a variety of assets including website pages, landing pages, and marketing materials such as advertisements, handouts, marketing emails, client presentations, logos, posters, invitations, web images, icons and illustrations, infographics, etc.
  • Altering or repairing graphic elements as necessary and/or place or converting graphic elements into correct formats for final production
  • Creating and/or manipulating graphic elements (photos, logos, themes, etc.) for use in client and internal marketing
  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Knowledge of following would be a strong advantage: Adobe Fireworks CS, Final Cut Pro HTML/CSS.
  • Superior visual literacy and expert understanding of design principles, illustration, and photography.
  • Managing production deadlines of various project deliverables from the design phase through production.
  • Handling various special requests related to graphic design services on an as assigned/as needed basis.
  • Must be a creative, self-motivated team player willing to take the lead and develop forward-thinking solutions when required.
  • Must have strong presentation skills and be comfortable presenting in small or large group settings, including to our clients, agency staff or other external audiences.
  • Ability to design and communicate clearly for a variety of media, and capacity to learn them quickly.
  • Willingness to be flexible and perform responsibilities not specifically identified in the job description, and assuming new responsibilities where needed as the team’s requirements change.

Important Skills:

  • Any website building/maintenance experience with HTML and CSS is a plus. Strong emphasis on HubSpot COS/CMS, Wordpress, Shopify, or Squarespace experience.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or the implementation of ads / postings in any social media or paid digital advertising platforms will give you a big jump-start on this role.
  • Must have a strong style and voice in order to execute, lead or develop a wide range of creative concepts and compelling content.
  • Superior visual literacy and expert understanding of design principles, illustration, and photography.
  • Good B2B writing skills would be a major advantage for you in this role.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to exercise good business judgment and diplomacy in complex situations.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or G-Suite equivalents)
